Letters
show enlightenment
I would like to comment on three
letters appearing in your July 17 edition. I applaud the letters from H. E.
Harrison and Anthony R. Stojak. It is refreshing to know that there are
citizens of Alabama who hold such enlightened views.
Our Constitution guarantees
religious freedom, and that includes those who choose to follow no particular
established religion. One has only to consider the dreadful Afghan-Taliban
regime to see what can occur when government and religion are inseparable.
On the other hand, the
letter from Cecil Park exemplifies appalling ignorance. His opinion, in mine,
was anything but “humble.”
